EmmaLee Kidwell
EmmaLee Kidwell is originally from Louisville, Kentucky, and now resides in New York City. EmmaLee attended Pace University, graduating with her BFA in Musical Theatre. Though her degree was earned in musical theatre performance, EmmaLee is now involved in music and theatre in many capacities. EmmaLee is the librettist of her own original folk musical, The Waiting, which has been recently developed at the SheNYC festival, The Days of the Dead Festival, and the Pace New Musicals Festival. The show deconstructs gender in the afterlife and questions humanity’s relationship to finality and death. EmmaLee’s other developing musicals investigate femininity and queerness, climate change, and artist’s relationships to the people around them. In the spring of 2022, EmmaLee and her writing partner, Maria, started their own company, Butterfly Effect Productions LLC, to further pursue and develop their artistic projects. In addition to her writing and work for her LLC, EmmaLee has also spent much of the past year on tour with Baby Shark Live! and is pleased to be returning in the fall of 2022 as the assistant dance captain. EmmaLee’s previous acting credits include Olive Ostrovsky in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and Kat in Brilliant: A New Musical at Theatre Row. In her spare time, she can be found playing The Sims, spending time at the Met, and writing her own singer/songwriter album.
