About the Program

Sixteen high school students in Connecticut will have the opportunity to create virtual 10-minute plays to be presented by the professional theatre development organization Live & In Color. We are accepting eight playwrights and eight directors, who will be paired together. The playwrights will write a play under the guidance of a mentor, a professional working in the theatre industry. The director will put together a cast of actors and to rehearse the play virtually, also under the guidance of a professional mentor. The program culminates in a virtual presentation of the eight plays.  

The plays will focus on the theme of transformation. They will each be 10-minutes with a maximum of three actors.

Dates

Application deadline: December 19

Orientation: February 20, 10am-noon. 

Writing: The playwright will have until March 13 to write the play. 

Directing: The director will have through April 2 to rehearse with the actors. 

Recording of plays: April 3 or 4

Final presentation: April 10, 7pm
