Samy Nour Younes Figaredo is a proud multi-hyphenate: Lebanese-American, Puerto Rican, actor, activist, aerialist, consultant, pianist, public speaker, puppeteer, singer, and more. Their theatrical credits include "Into the Woods" (Ford's Theater), "The Triumphant" and "Pay No Attention to the Girl" (Target Margin Theater), and "Well-intentioned White People" (Barrington Stage Company). Samy can also be seen on the fourth season of "Transparent" (Amazon).
Samy uses both masculine (he/him) and neutral (they/them) pronouns.
As an activist, Samy served on the leadership teams of the DC Area Transmasculine Society, the Baltimore Transgender Alliance, and the Charm City Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. In addition to their freelance work as a consultant and public speaker, Samy is an Inclusivity Trainer for the Ackerman Institute's Gender & Family Project; and a Consultant and Public Speaker for Collaborate Consulting. They have participated in both local and national ad campaigns, including Citibank, the Center for Disease Control, Philadelphia Department of Health, Gilead Sciences, and JUST Water.
Online, Samy is best known for being a TED resident in the fall of 2018, where they gave a TED talk on the importance of transgender history. Their talk went live in March 2019 (just days before the Transgender Day of Remembrance) and has since been viewed over 1.6 million times. Later that year, Samy produced and debuted their first solo show, "everyday," at The Tank in New York City.
